I bought the tall garden fork for aerating and tilling. The tines were described as 10' in length- measured mine and found they were almost 11' long. After aerating I lightly worked the surface with the grub I bought a decade ago and then raked the surface to create a shallow seed bed with a minimally worked 10-12 inch, aerated root zone below. The the fork was so much fun that I probably over worked the soul a little too much. I bought a tall garden shovel which works really well spading and turning under manure. My garden isn't real big and these tools make short work of it. Our community garden has a rototiller, but it pulverizes 4' of soil and leaves a hard ban.

This long handled digging fork is one of the best tools I have ever purchased! It has made digging in the soil so much easier than the short handled forks I have used before. I no longer have to bend over so far to dig into the dirt which has saved my back from a great deal of soreness. I highly recommend this digging fork to anyone who wants more leverage while digging or to those taller people who would like to stand in a more upright position while digging. Also the durability of this fork is very obvious from the get go! I can feel how strong it is with everything I do with it. It is far superior to the shorter wooden forks I have used. It is well worth the price, you will be very glad you got it!

Snap. MyTroy Bilt will not climb into my raised beds so the turning fork were my solution. I works great at loosening the soil and is easy on my 72 year old body. Thanks

Before ordering my pitchfork and shovel from Easy Digging, I was managing my compost by hand. I know. It was a hard as it sounds. I read about Easy Digging from David the Good's books. He wrote that these tools were the best made products he's found. He was right! Turning my compost is a cinch now that I have sturdy tools. They are lightweight which is a huge benefit. Super strong, too. The customer service was excellent, too. They helped me purchase the best tools for my work.

I live in the NW and Easy Digging is the only source I've found for this long handled digging fork! You won't find them at typical box or hardware stores any more near urban areas. And if you don't own a fork like this, you absolutely don't know what you're missing! Got deeply rooted weeds like big clover or bindweed? Got nasty bamboo spreading in your yard? Need to deeply aerate a bed prior to planting? You need this tool and won't regret it! I like it so much, I bought one as a present for my son. Thanks Easy Digging for continuing to supply this tool! You're a company very easy to become loyal to!!

Bad back and have trouble bending over and digging. Tried long handle Spading Fork and is just what I needed to dig some new potatoes. Great fork for turning soil or digging in hard clay soil. More costly but worth it for me.

The tools can withstand a direct nuclear blast, They will outlive all of us. Easy to handle, tines on fork were pliant enough to wiggle around stones, blade on spade cut through dense clay. Price - fantastic. I have gardened for over 60 years and except for two tools that I bought from England in the early 70's I have never had better than these and ... the tools from England are no longer available - the man who made them died.

I love my new grub hoe & garden fork. I have them to prepare/turn planting beds that were covered in weeds in the garden as well as to dig holes for planting trees. It is so much faster than with the shovel. I purchased my items on the recommendation of David the Good and I have not been disappointed. I already ordered the new small hand hoe. I highly recommend these products.

I purchased a broadfork, a garden fork, a grub hoe and a fork hoe. I have used everything but the grub hoe so far. I have rocky soil with clay. By rocky I mean anything from 1 inch to 8 inch rock. By clay I mean hard pan clay at about 4 to 8 inches down. I have dug before using a pick and a digging bar; it is terrible. I started using the broadfork, fork hoe, and garden fork instead of digging bar and shovel. I am amazed at how well these tools work. It is easier to use my broadfork than my Troy Built. The Tory Built is getting sold. I cannot recommend the tools or Easy Digging more favorably. Thank you Easy Digging!!

I ordered the short handled spading fork to replace a 30+ -year-old one that my husband broke when he used it improperly. I was surprised and disappointed when this one came in because the fork has a significant curve from the handle; in other words the fork and handle are not as straight as I expected. (Think L instead of I.) This means that I will be giving up leverage ability by not being able to essentially go into the ground perpendicularly. I did some searching on the internet and discovered that this tool is actually designed for removing roof shingles--not for garden work. I feel "cheated" because there is no photo showing the profile of the tool. I haven't returned it yet because I'm still trying to find a genuine spading fork that is well made, and I don't want to pay the shipping costs.
