Our Hand Hoe, also called a Hand Mattock, is a compact tool for close weeding, tilling small garden areas, loosening soil and making planting holes. Its forged steel head is 2 inches wide and 5.5 inches long, with a 13-inch hardwood handle. The complete tool weighs 1 pound.

The garden digging tool that I purchased is a perfect size for the task. It was shipped quickly and easy to assemble. I previously purchased some digging tools from Easy Digging several years back; excellent quality; I still have them.
As soon as we put it together I took it out and started to dig up my flower bed. It worked very well on the weeds. I would recommend it to others.

Why is a short hand hoe handy to have?
There are times and places where you just want to be much closer to
the soil surface than you can get with a long handled gardening hoe.
Raised beds is the most obvious location. The other is flower beds where
taller plants block your view from above.
