I previously used a spading fork. Nice for small jobs but overall the fork was too narrow and the handle too short. I bought the 20" 22 lb. model. It is a beast. I am very pleased with my purchase.

We have a large vegetable garden but don't want to use a rototiller because it kills too many earth worms. So I read about broadforks in David the Good's book Grow or Die and decided to give it a try. It has been a good experience - didn't realize how compacted the soil was until using the broadfork. I'm almost 70 and it took some effort and a few hours over a few days but it's done and I think it's made a big improvement.

I'm in my 70's and I got the 14" model, the tall one. It was easy to use, just pace yourself and take your time. The fork did an excellent job of loosening the dirt while preserving the earthworms and bacteria in the soil. I hit some stones but the fork still looked like new when I got finished.

Meadow Creature Tall 14 Broadfork: My backyard is undisturbed clay soil, so no prior experience with other tools. Metal handles were one of the main selling points.
(Lots of reviews about how wooden handles broke after a couple of uses on competing tools.)
I was a bit wary at first because the sales documentation said this tool would give you a good workout and not so good for older people. However I purchased it
in spite of the warning. Perhaps the definition of older people is 85-90 years old. I found this broadfork easy to use - even for two+ hour sessions
(it's still hot here so I do yard and garden work before the sun comes up). I am not particularly tall (173 cm) and mid-seventies in age. The effort required
would be different if there were a lot of rocks or tree roots to be removed, for just clay soil it's really easy to use.

The broadfork worked great. A robust and sturdy tool that was ergonomic and easy to use. The cover crops in my garden are doing great.

I am so happy I purchased this broad fork. I broke sod for a garden, aerated a soggy part of my property. This thing is built to last. I saw David the Good use it, then watched other videos. Decided I had to get it. Thank you.

The tool is incredible. I was contemplating a renting a tiller, but decided I would try the broadfork first. Had never used one, but was
impressed with the videos showing it in hard clay.
I have hard clay, and have never used a broadfork before, but let me tell you, it made short work of that compacted earth. I tilled a 5' x 50'
bed using the broadfork, going first in one direction, then perpendicular. It really broke up the earth and allowed me to amend the soil with compost.
I went through a third time after the compost was added on top and it really mixed everything in thoroughly.
I bought the tall version, being 6'2", but doing it again, I would have gone with the lighter version. 7 lbs doesn't sound like much but on a
large bed, it can wear you out.

My broadfork purchase was a great investment. I needed it to break up an area 10 x 16 and it was a joy to use. The tool should last a lifetime it was very strong and well made.

The broad Fork is an amazing tool that I have been looking forward to for over a year. It's spring and I was able to put it in the soil and lift and loosen my dalia bed before I replant this year and amazing gift to Aiden. My garden work I love it.

Tall broad fork is amazing making short work of sod removal in preparation for hoop house construction. Three tine hoe is my new favorite light tool for lifting sod and pulling weeds. Long handled shovel excellent for cutting sod. Been using the four inch grub hoe for years and loving it now able to expand my tool library and happy to have your tools. Thanks for providing great tools!

Got my first broadfork. It is an absolutely terrific tool. So much better than a shovel for loosening dirt!

I selected a tall 14" tines Meadow Creature broadfork from EasyDigging, and it seems to be making the difference in my backyard for improvement of my no-till beds, and to guide the direction of my fruit trees feeder-roots away from the house foundation. Excellent product, would recommend to anyone serious about building their soil quality!

Very high quality tools. I have been digging a 5x30 bed that used to be part of a gravel parking lot with hard pan red clay underneath and this thing has exceeded my expectations of durability.

Two years I started to convert 1/2 acre of my property to a meadow. We brush hogged the land and had 17 native trees planted. This year I am planting a dozen shrubs along with some sedge, blacked eyed susans and coneflowers. I am using the grub hoe to direct some runoff and the broad fork to turn the solid for planting. So far all is going well. The tools are fantastic.
